Some books just plain work – no matter the format. As the list of winners of the Audie Awards, given by AudioFile magazine, proves. This year’s winners (and many of the finalists) are the listenable version of *names you know.* For example, overall audio book of the year is The Girl on the Train, here read by three fine female voices: Clare Corbett, Louise Brealey and India Fisher. George Guidall won best male narrator for his rendition of one of our other favorites, Daniel Silva’s The English Spy. But there are new names here, as well – and new-old ones, too. A version of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book was the audio drama winner, all these years after the classic was first penned. Here are a few of the winners; see the complete list, including finalists.
