Sometimes you just can’t help using a cliché. So, with beach brain kicking in a little early this year, let me say.... It’s Summertime and the reading is... easy? Long? Light? Heavy? Full of pictures? All of the above, probably – as evidenced by our Summer Reading Roundup. There’s something for everyone this season – there, my second cliché in as many lines, and I’ve already used more than any of the authors we’ve chosen for you.
Just some highlights of what you’ll find in our summer reading store. Fiction from names you know who have long been staples of our Best of Lists: J.K. Rowling, Justin Cronin, Daniel Silva, Stephen King. The start of a new YA series that we predict you’ll be following for years to come: Outliers. A new offering from kids’ favorite Rick Yancy, and a book about a very important summer topic: how to make cocktails from just four ingredients (Home Bartender). And, of course, two of the summer’s best “girl” novels: Girls on Fire (a May selection for Amazon's Best Books of the Month) and The Girls (more on this soon). This year, we decided to help you catch up on the best books you might have missed last year, and so we came up with a list of great new-in-paperback summer reads: Jami Attenberg’s St. Mazie, our Best of the Year top–fiver Becoming Nicole, and Alice Hoffman’s winning The Marriage of Opposites. And that’s just the beginning.
Better get a bigger beach bag....
