The City of MirrorsJustin Cronin came to Seattle this week on his book tour for the final book in his Passage trilogy, The City of Mirrors. A faculty member of Rice University who first wrote two "quiet, literary" books (his words, not mine!), one of which gained him a PEN/Hemingway Award, Cronin changed gears and wrote The Passage, an action-packed post-apocalyptic thriller that mesmerized thousands of readers.

Here, Justin Cronin talks about the genesis of the Passage trilogy, the power of character, how fans have reacted to his books, and what he's working on next.
